Rotonda is a delightful, peaceful community located on the Cape Haze Peninsula in Charlotte County in the South Gulf Coast of Florida. It is mid-way between Sarasota and Fort Myers, resting on the waters of the Myakka River and Lemon Bay. For those more familiar with areas like Tampa and Clearwater, Rotonda is about 90 minutes further down the coast.
The nearby beaches are just 10-15 minutes away and their beautiful white sands provide sunbathing, swimming and beachcombing, not to mention spotting dolphins and manatee!
There are six golf courses operated by Rotonda Golf and Country Club right on your doorstep. Hiking, biking, boating, fishing and other watersports such as jet-skiing are available nearby.
For those who prefer the more tranquil approach, just sit quietly and enjoy the local wildlife - many exotic and beautiful birds call Rotonda West home; it is a designated Bird Sanctuary.
Sarasota, located approximately 45 minutes away, is known for shopping, dining, and fine arts. Port Charlotte is only 20 minutes to the south. Here you will find a large shopping mall with Macys, Dillards, Hollister and JC Penny plus many other stores.
There are wonderful restaurants in the area offering everything from the legendary ‘all you can eat’ buffets to sumptuous fresh fish and steaks. Pick one of the restaurants by the waterside and you will enjoy the most amazing views as you enjoy some fabulous cuisine!
Magical memories can be made by taking a trip to Orlando's world famous theme parks. Walt Disney World, Universal Resorts, Sea World, Discovery Cove, Wet 'n Wild, Legoland... take your pick! These attractions are less than three hours away. Busch Gardens is even closer, just 90 minutes to the north.
